We have one muzzleloader hunt left for this season. We are hoping for some cooperating weather. Our deer season was a great one at Mo' Magic. We got to meet new friends, see plenty of old friends, and experienced great hunting success. We didn't harvest any so called "giants" this year, but took plenty of quality mature bucks. This lead to plenty of clients experiencing "The Magic" at Mo' Magic Trophy Hunts. We called that mature bucks would be harvested around Halloween in 2018 due to the harvest moon being on the 24th. That being said the harvest moon for the 2019 season will be on Oct. 13th. This should mean that we will have lots of great archery hunting with cooperating weather. The MDC released its 2019 hunting dates this past week and in turn will mean a later gun season starting Nov 16 and running through Nov 26. New for the 2019 season, immature deer scoring less than 135" will result in an immediate $750 fine. As always we strive to take deer of at least 3.5 years of age.

Most of the time people may not understand the idea of hunting. I grew up on a cattle farm and was really close to animals and wildlife in general. Of which we would kill one a year for meat, the best meat you've never had. We would sell the rest to others who would use the cattle for consumption. I am used to seeing animals being killed for food or clothing. As I grew older, I realized their value in humans. What I don't understand is that some people find killing animals exhilarating, or because they want antlers to mount on the wall.
