Showdown on the scrape right here. The young pup has tucked his tail and decided that it is time to hit a new set of woods lol. You can sure tell that the mature buck has postured up and probably thrown an aggressive grunt saying don't mess with me boy!!!

#This younger buck has proven that our daytime activity is ramping up on our bucks. He is trying to show its his turf. There are about 6 different bucks using this scrape. Two are quiet a bit more mature with more jewelry as well lol. #cuddeback cameras #tinks scrape bombs #tinks power scrape #Intimidator UTV
Well as I talked about in my last post, we are getting to that special time of year. While doing some morning scouting/spotting i came across four scrapes the size of truck hoods!!! I checked a near by camera and had this quality mature buck on it. This afternoon I will roll by a clover plot that is loaded with sign and scrapes and a camera that is set on video. I'm hoping to show some really neat videos from it. Stay tuned for more to come from on scrape line activity and trail camera photos. Our first group of the year rolls in this coming week and I'm betting it will be some great action that they have.
Today was some crazy north Missouri weather. It was 90* and the winds were gusting around 40 mph. We have a front coming on Wednesday that should back temperatures back down a bit towards our normal's. I checked a few cameras and edges on some farms for scraping activity. I found some very active scrape lines that are really opening up!!! This guy below had just came from the direction of a pretty good sized scrape.
We have entered that early October time frame of the Midwest hunting season where deer start ramping up with their scraping and rubbing activity. The acorns are raining as well from the oak trees. I'm starting to see more and more daytime activity from bucks as well with my trail cameras and personal experiences. Our weather is that crazy north Missouri weather that we become known for....one day it's 80 and sunny and the next it 50 and gloomy. Yesterday, we had our first hard frost of the year, it was 29 about a half hour after daylight!!!!!
It is the end of July and the Whitetail Institute clover food plot is looking to be quite nice. Here's another quality buck that is definitely going to be on the hit list come fall. I look forward to seeing him grow the rest of the summer.
I've been checking our cameras here in the past week and will do so again in a couple of weeks. It has been an exciting time as always checking on the progress and growth of our deer. There have been a lot of quality deer showing up on our trail camera sites, which makes for an exciting upcoming fall. We still have two months of growing left!!!
